Gombe Police Arrest Suspect Over Alleged Farm Attack in Funakaye LGA

The Gombe State Police Command has arrested a 18-year-old suspect in connection with an alleged attack on a farmer that left one person injured in Funakaye Local Government Area of the state.
According to sources, the incident was reported on June 15 at about 12:00 p.m. through the Ribadu Outstation, following a complaint by Babangida Umar, 26, of Wuro Yolde Village via Ribadu Ward.
The complainant alleged that at about 11:00 a.m. on the same day, some individuals identified as Fulani herdsmen attacked one Usman Abubakar, 45, of the same community while he was on his farm, inflicting machete injuries on him.
Security sources said the victim was immediately rushed to the General Hospital in Bajoga, where he is currently receiving treatment and responding to medical care.
Following the report, police operatives visited the scene and launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of one Bello Alhaji Ardo, 18, of Wuro Nareyel Village in Ribadu Ward.
The suspect reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation, according to police authorities.
The Command said investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances of the incident and to apprehend other individuals possibly involved.
