Suspected kidnappers have abducted a resident from his home in Dong village, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, despite the swift response of security forces.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that troops of Sector 3 under Operation Enduring Peace responded at about 12:30 a.m. on July 19 after receiving reports of sporadic gunfire in the community.
On arrival, the troops discovered that unidentified armed men had already abducted a resident from his residence before fleeing the area.
The sources said troops immediately launched efforts to trail the attackers and intensify patrols in the surrounding communities to facilitate the victim’s rescue and apprehend those responsible.
Military authorities said security operations have been heightened across the area as investigations continue into the incident.
