Troops launch search after resident abducted in Plateau community

Troops of Sector 1 under Operation Enduring Peace have launched a search operation following the abduction of a resident in Agingi village, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the troops responded at about 11:23 p.m. on July 18 after receiving a distress report of a kidnapping in the community.
The sources said troops immediately exploited the surrounding area in an effort to rescue the victim and intercept the abductors, but no contact was made with the fleeing gunmen.
Military authorities said efforts are ongoing to locate the kidnappers and secure the safe rescue of the victim, while security patrols have been intensified across the Bassa axis to prevent further criminal activities.
