A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) C-130 aircraft and its crew have safely arrived in Portugal for a scheduled flight maintenance mission, following a successful en route stopover in Accra, Ghana.
The aircraft had earlier departed Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, before transiting through Accra, where the crew received a warm reception from officials of the Ghana Air Force and representatives of the Nigerian Embassy.
Defence sources confirmed that the aircraft proceeded to Portugal as planned on Saturday, marking another successful long-range operational deployment by the NAF.
Sources said that the maintenance mission in Portugal is part of the NAF’s ongoing efforts to ensure the serviceability, safety and operational readiness of its airlift fleet, which plays a critical role in troop movement, logistics support, humanitarian operation and security engagements.
