One killed, two injured in Borno over minor argument

A violent altercation over a minor disagreement has led to the death of a young man and injuries to two others in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.

 

Security sources said the incident occurred on May 28 at about 10:30 p.m. in Zannari community when a disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation among youths in the area.

 

According to the sources, one Abba Alhaji Adamu, 20, was allegedly stabbed in the chest during the clash.

 

He was rushed to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) but was confirmed dead on arrival by medical personnel.

 

The sources further disclosed that another individual, identified as Muhammed Bukar Luwaye, 18, was found unconscious at the scene with visible injuries.

 

He was reportedly receiving treatment following the incident.

 

It was also gathered that a third person, Usman Muhammed, 22, sustained head injuries during the altercation and was also taken to hospital before being treated and discharged.

 

All the individuals involved were said to be from Zannari community in Mafa LGA.

 

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the UMTH mortuary for autopsy.

 

Security sources said investigations were ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
