Police Arrest Notorious Kidnapper Wanted by DSS in Abuja

Operatives of the Scorpion Squad have arrested a notorious kidnapper, Shaibu Alhaji Ahijo, 25, who was declared wanted by the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies.

 

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that Ahijo was apprehended at Nyanya Under Bridge on March 24 around 6:00 p.m. following a tip-off.

 

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to being involved in several kidnappings across the FCT, Nasarawa, and Benue States. He admitted to receiving ₦1 million in ransom from his last operation.

 

Ahijo also disclosed that three members of his gang Musa, Haruna, and Babangida (surnames unknown) were killed by security operatives during a botched kidnapping in Benue State. 

 

He revealed that he had traveled to Abuja to regroup with his gang after the deadly encounter.

 

The sources said that suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
