Police Arrest Suspected Vandal in Minna, Recover Stolen Electrical Fittings

The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old suspect for alleged vandalism and theft of electrical fittings in Minna.

Police sources disclosed that the arrest followed a distress call from concerned residents of Tunga Low-Cost area, who reported suspicious activity inside an unoccupied apartment belonging to the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command.

According to the sources, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Tudun-Wada Division immediately mobilised a team of officers to the scene upon receipt of the information.

One suspect, identified as Suleiman Mohamed of Kasuwan Gwari area in Minna, was arrested during the operation.

Items recovered from the suspect include vandalised electrical cables and fittings allegedly removed from the building.

Police authorities said efforts are ongoing to arrest an accomplice believed to have participated in the vandalism.

The suspect is currently in custody while investigation continues to determine the extent of the damage and possible involvement in other related incidents.
