A total of 56 suspects have been arrested during coordinated raids on criminal hideouts across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Sources familiar with the operations told Zagazola Makama  on Thursday that the raids were conducted late Wednesday night by security operatives from Karmo, Kabusa, Apo, Nyanya, Karshi, and Kubwa Divisions.

The operations, which began around 11:40 p.m., targeted black spots, uncompleted buildings, and other suspected criminal hideouts within the affected areas.

Items recovered during the exercise included a dagger and quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

The arrested individuals are currently undergoing screening and interrogation at the respective divisions.

Authorities say those found culpable after investigation will be charged to court, while efforts continue to rid the territory of criminal elements and enhance public safety.
