Police rescue wife and daughter of abducted pastor in Plateau

The Plateau State Police Command has rescued the wife and one daughter of a pastor abducted from his residence in Bokkos Local Government Area of the state.

 

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 12:20 a.m. on Dec. 22 in Makudang Mangor village.

 

According to the source, kidnappers entered the residence of Pastor Gayus Tashvwam of the Cocin LCC Church and abducted the pastor, his wife, and two of his daughters to an unknown location.

 

“On receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer of Bokkos mobilised a combined team of police and local hunters to the scene. While combing the surrounding bushes, the wife and one of the daughters were rescued unhurt,” the source said.

 

The sources added that additional deployment had been made to the general area and that concerted efforts were ongoing to rescue the remaining victims and apprehend the fleeing suspects.

 

The sources assured members of the public that further updates on the operation would be communicated as the situation developed.
