Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised scores of suspected terrorists during a precision air strike and arrested two high-profile collaborators in Borno.
Security sources said the air component conducted an armed reconnaissance mission over the Chikide general area following credible intelligence on the presence of insurgents.
The sources disclosed that the surveillance platform identified a concentration of suspected ISWAP fighters gathered under a makeshift shelter.
“Subsequently, a precision strike was executed on the target, leading to the neutralisation of scores of terrorists, while others in nearby shelters fled the scene,” the sources said.
In a related development, troops of 231 Tank Battalion, in collaboration with members of the Hunters Group, arrested two suspected high-profile terrorist collaborators at Miringa Market in Biu Local Government Area.
The arrest, which took place followed intelligence linking the suspects to coordination of terrorist sleeper cells and storage of arms and ammunition for insurgents.
Items recovered from the suspects include two mobile phones, two wristwatches and one RAM module.
The suspects and recovered items are currently in military custody for further investigation.
