Security forces arrest suspected bandits’ kingpin in Maradun, Zamfara

Security forces have arrested a suspected kingpin of a notorious bandit gang responsible for kidnappings and extortion in Tangaza Local Government Area.
Sources said that on Feb. 8, 2026, at about 9:00 p.m., operatives acting on credible intelligence apprehended Shehu Maniya, a male of Kasarawa Area, Wamako LGA, at a bandit camp in Bayan Ruwa, Maradun LGA, Zamfara State.
The suspect is reportedly providing useful information expected to facilitate the arrest of other gang members and the recovery of their weapons.
Investigation into the case is ongoing, and further developments will be communicated.
