Suspected herders kill farmer in Benue community

Suspected armed herders have killed a 60-year-old farmer, Emmanuel Kwaghchimin, during an attack on his farm in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.
Police sources said the incident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on Friday at Atse Village in Mbajir Council Ward, Abako area of the local government.
The victim was reportedly working on his farm when he was attacked and killed by the assailants.
Following a distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Katsina-Ala led a team of officers to the scene.
The deceased’s body was evacuated to Aboh Hospital for a post-mortem examination before being released to his family for burial.
Police said security operatives have commenced combing nearby bushes in a bid to apprehend the fleeing suspects, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
