Three dead, 17 injured in lone fatal accident along Ibadan/Lagos Expressway

Three people were killed and 17 others injured in a lone motor accident on April 21, 2025, at Ajanla Area, Ibadan, along the Ibadan/Lagos Expressway.

 

The accident occurred at about 1505hrs when the front left tire of a Toyota Hummer commercial bus, with registration number Taraba JAL 705 RS, burst as it approached Ajanla Village Junction. 

 

The bus, which was conveying 20 passengers traveling from Yola to Lagos, lost control and somersaulted into a ditch beside the expressway.

 

The driver and two other occupants were confirmed dead at the scene, while the 17 injured victims were rushed to Central Hospital, Ibadan, for treatment. The corpses of the deceased were evacuated and deposited at Adeoyo State Hospital’s mortuary for autopsy.

 

The vehicle has been recovered for inspection by the Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO), and investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
