Troops Arrest 10 Escaped Cultism Suspects in Ondo State

Troops of 32 Brigade have arrested 10 suspected cultists who reportedly escaped from police custody in Ondo State.
Security sources disclosed that the suspects were apprehended at about 1500 hours on May 10, 2026, during a routine operation at Ile-Oluji Rural Area in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of the state.
The sources said preliminary investigation indicated that the suspects had earlier escaped from the Nigeria Police detention facility in Ile-Oluji on May 9, 2026.
According to the sources, troops acting on intelligence swiftly moved to the area and successfully re-arrested the fleeing suspects without incident.
Military authorities said the suspects were thereafter handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution.
They added that the operation reflects ongoing collaboration between security agencies to curb criminal activities and strengthen public safety in the state.
