Troops Arrest Five Armed Robbery Suspects in Ebonyi Raid Operation

Troops of Operation UDO KA have arrested five suspected armed robbers during a raid operation in Ogwulangwu Community, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Military sources disclosed that the operation was carried out at about 3:50 a.m. on June 8 by troops of Sector 2 of the operation based at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Uburu.

The suspects were reportedly linked to a series of armed robbery attacks along the Okposi–Ogwulangwu–Ukawu axis.

During the raid, troops recovered two motorcycles, a television set, a bundle of wrappers, a water pumping machine, nine cartons of drugs, a first aid box and other sundry items believed to be connected to the suspects’ activities.

Security sources further revealed that evidence of funds allegedly transferred by victims to the suspects under duress was also discovered during the operation.

The suspects are currently in military custody and are expected to be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and prosecution.

The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by security forces to curb criminal activities and enhance security across communities in the South-East region.
