Troops Arrest Two Suspected Terrorists, Recover Ammunition in Nasarawa

Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS) have arrested two suspects linked to alleged terrorist activities in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Military sources disclosed that the suspects were apprehended at about 11:30 a.m. on June 7 by troops of Sector 2 of the operation in Akwanga following intelligence reports on their alleged involvement in terrorist-related activities within the area.
Items recovered from the suspects include one round of 7.62mm special ammunition, a camouflage vest and other sundry materials.
The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to disrupt the activities of criminal and terrorist elements operating within the North-Central region.
The suspects and recovered items are currently in military custody pending further investigation and necessary action by relevant authorities.
Security agencies have continued to intensify intelligence-driven operations aimed at enhancing security and preventing threats to lives and property across Nasarawa State and neighbouring areas.
