Troops arrest four suspected terrorists during cordon-and-search operation in Sokoto

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have arrested four suspected terrorists during a cordon-and-search operation in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was conducted at about 10:10 a.m. on July 27 by troops deployed at Ungwan Mailelle, in collaboration with Community Guards.
The sources said the operation targeted Ungwan Mailelle village following intelligence reports on the presence of suspected terrorist elements in the area.
During the operation, the troops successfully apprehended four suspected terrorists without incident.
The suspects were subsequently handed over to the 8 Military Intelligence Battalion (8 MIB) for further investigation and other necessary actions.
Military sources said the operation forms part of sustained intelligence-led efforts under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to identify, apprehend and dismantle terrorist cells operating across communities in Sokoto State and the wider North-West region.
