Troops under Operation Enduring Peace  have recovered 41 rustled cattle after foiling a cattle rustling operation in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 5:30 a.m. on July 27, when troops of Sector 6, Operation Enduring Peace , responded to a distress report of cattle rustling at Fwil village.

The sources said the troops immediately mobilised to the area, trailed the fleeing rustlers and made contact with them.

On sighting the advancing troops, the criminals abandoned the stolen livestock and fled into nearby bushes to evade arrest.

The troops recovered 41 cattle, which were subsequently identified and handed over to their rightful owner.

Military sources said efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects as part of sustained operations to curb cattle rustling and other forms of rural banditry across Plateau State.

The successful recovery highlights the continued commitment of Operation Enduring Peace to protecting lives and livelihoods through rapid response to security threats in its area of responsibility.
