Troops rescue injured farmer after attack by armed herders in Plateau

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace  have rescued a farmer who sustained injuries following an attack by suspected armed herders in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

 

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 2:20 p.m. on July 27, when troops of Sector 6, Operation Enduring Peace responded to a distress call reporting an attack on a farmer at Dum Community.

 

The sources said the troops swiftly deployed to the scene, forcing the armed herders to flee with their cattle upon sighting the security personnel.

 

The injured farmer was rescued by the troops and evacuated for medical attention.

 

Military sources said security forces have commenced efforts to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects as part of ongoing operations to curb violent attacks and restore peace in communities across Plateau State.
