Troops Arrest Herder Over Alleged Illegal Grazing in Jos

Troops of Sector 1, Sub-Sector 12, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have arrested a 23-year-old herder over alleged illegal grazing at the Lamingo Golf Club in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
A military source told Zagazola Makama that the troops responded to a report of illegal grazing at the golf club at about 4:18 p.m. on August 12, 2026.
Upon arrival at the location, the troops arrested the herder, identified as Auwal Sani, 23, alongside his cattle.
The suspect was taken into custody for further investigation and necessary action.
The intervention is part of ongoing efforts by security agencies under Operation Enduring Peace to prevent illegal grazing, protect agricultural and recreational facilities and maintain peaceful relations between farming and herding communities in Plateau State.
