Troops arrest suspected terrorist during operation in Benue

Troops of Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have arrested a suspected terrorist during a security operation in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect was apprehended at about 9:00 a.m. on July 18 by troops deployed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Otukpo.
The sources said the arrest was made at Amula community during ongoing operations aimed at flushing out criminal elements and dismantling their hideouts in the area.
The suspect is currently in military custody and is undergoing preliminary investigation to establish his identity, possible affiliations and level of involvement in criminal activities.
Military authorities said troops have continued to sustain offensive operations and intelligence-driven patrols across Benue State to deny armed groups freedom of movement and enhance security in vulnerable communities.
