Troops arrest suspected terrorist kingpin and accomplice in Kwara State

Troops under Operation Savannah Shield have arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin and his accomplice during an ambush operation in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara state. 

 

Security sources said the operation was carried out on April 17 at about 1600 hrs by troops of 22 Brigade deployed at Woro village following credible intelligence on the movement of a wanted suspect within the Wawa general area.

 

The troops reportedly laid an ambush and successfully apprehended the suspect alongside his accomplice at Woro village.

 

The suspects were identified as Alhaji Kiruwa Usman and Jemu Muhammadu.

 

According to the sources, troops recovered the sum of ₦328,000 and other assorted items from the suspects at the point of arrest.

 

The arrested individuals were subsequently handed over to 22 Provost Company for further investigation and necessary disciplinary procedures.

 

Security authorities said follow-up actions are ongoing as part of broader efforts to dismantle criminal networks operating within the region.
