Troops Arrest Three Suspected Terrorist Collaborators in Borno

Troops of 162 Amphibious Battalion, Operation HADIN KAI, have arrested three suspected terrorist collaborators during an intelligence-led operation along the Mandaragirau–Sabon Gari road in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.
A military source told Zagazola Makama that the suspects were arrested at about 5:30 p.m. on August 8, 2026, at a military checkpoint along the route following credible intelligence.
The suspects were identified as 35-year-old Ali Ali from Kurufulu, 30-year-old Usman Salihu and 31-year-old Adamu Muhammad, both from Kadan Loko, all in Biu LGA.
Items recovered from the suspects included ₦450,000 cash, three mobile phones, an oil bottle, a torchlight, two mirrors, a phone battery, three lighters, a bangle, a NIN slip, four face caps and two local caps.
Other items recovered were six cow drugs and syringes, an umbrella, blanket, three loaves of bread, two ropes, bottled water and a can of malt.
During preliminary investigation, the suspects reportedly confessed to having been sent by terrorists operating around the Timbuktu Triangle axis to sell a rustled cow.
The suspects remain in the custody of 162 Amphibious Battalion and are being processed for onward transfer to Abogo Largema Military Cantonment for further investigation and necessary action.
