Troops Arrest Two Suspects, Recover Ammunition in Plateau

Troops of Sector 6 of Operation Safe Peace have arrested two suspects and recovered ammunition during a stop-and-search operation in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources disclosed that the suspects, identified as Patience John, 28, and Shamsu Ibrahim, 29, were apprehended at about 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Zawan area while travelling in a commercial vehicle.
According to the sources, troops conducting routine stop-and-search duties discovered two rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and a rubber item reportedly associated with illicit drug abuse concealed in the suspects’ bag.
The suspects were immediately taken into custody for further investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the possession of the ammunition and other recovered items.
They added that investigations are ongoing and that further action would be taken based on the outcome of the inquiry.
