Troops of Sector 7, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have averted a possible breakdown of law and order following growing tension over the alleged destruction of farms and crops in Fido community, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Zagazola Media Network gathered that the incident occurred on August 24, 2026, when troops responded to a report of farm destruction in the community.
Upon arrival, the troops found residents aggrieved over the alleged continuous destruction of their farms and crops by suspected Fulani herders.
The aggrieved community members were reportedly mobilising to stage a protest and demand the immediate vacation of the Fulani herders from the community.
However, the prompt intervention of the troops helped to calm the situation and restore normalcy, preventing the dispute from escalating into a wider confrontation.
Following the intervention, the Village Head, Mr. Zakka Deyeri, and the Fulani Ardo, Umaru Kagoma, were invited to the headquarters of Sector 7 for a peace meeting.
During the meeting, both parties discussed the issues surrounding the dispute and reached an amicable resolution aimed at maintaining peace and preventing further escalation.
Security personnel have since intensified patrols around strategic locations and identified flashpoints within the area of responsibility to deter criminal elements and prevent any further breakdown of law and order.
