Troops of 25 Brigade, Operation HADIN KAI, have conducted an exploitation patrol following recent terrorist activity in Damboa.
Security sources said the patrol was carried out at about 6:00 a.m. on March 24 by troops mounted on Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles and led by the Commanding Officer of 19 Battalion.
The operation covered about 12 kilometres along the suspected withdrawal route of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists, with the aim of exploiting earlier gains and assessing enemy movement.
During the patrol, troops observed motorcycle and bicycle tracks believed to have been used by the fleeing terrorists. They also recovered one PKT ammunition belt and an empty magazine along the route.
No contact was made with the terrorists during the operation, and troops safely returned to base at about 10:00 a.m.
Zagazola report that the patrol was part of sustained efforts to dominate the area and prevent regrouping by insurgents.
