Troops of the Nigerian Army have destroyed terrorist enclaves in Ari Koriri village, Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State, following an intelligence-led clearance operation targeting insurgents hiding in the area.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was conducted at about 11:15 a.m. on Nov. 4, 2026, by troops of 145 Battalion (Motorised), 5 Brigade, under Sector 3, following intelligence reports indicating that terrorists were hibernating in the village.
The troops mobilised to the general area and, upon arrival, made contact with pockets of insurgents, forcing them to retreat in confusion.
The troops subsequently exploited the area and destroyed identified terrorist enclaves.
The casualties suffered by the insurgents could not be immediately ascertained.
Following the successful clearance operation, the troops withdrew and returned to their base at about 4:40 p.m.
The operation forms part of sustained military efforts to dismantle terrorist hideouts, deny insurgents safe havens and restrict their freedom of movement across the Lake Chad operational theatre.
