Troops of Sector 7, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), in conjunction with other security agencies, have foiled a clash between farmers and herders over alleged encroachment on farmlands at Nok Community in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that troops responded at about 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 5, 2026, following a report of a confrontation between the two groups.
The intervention of the security personnel brought the situation under control and prevented the dispute from escalating.
A peace meeting was subsequently convened at about 11 a.m., with the Vice Chairman of Jaba LGA and other stakeholders in attendance.
The stakeholders resolved the dispute amicably, while normalcy has been restored in the area.
Security agencies are expected to sustain monitoring of the community to prevent a recurrence of the conflict.
