The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) welfare flight has transported 330 personnel into and out of the Theatre of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) as part of efforts to support troops deployed in the North-East.
Security sources said the second welfare flight for October 2026 was conducted on Oct. 15 using a chartered ValueJet aircraft.
According to the sources, a total of 155 personnel were transported into the OPHK theatre, while 175 personnel were moved out of the operational theatre.
The movement was completed without any reported hitch.
The sources added that the cumulative number of personnel transported into and out of the OPHK theatre through the welfare flight arrangement had reached 36,191.
The initiative forms part of the Nigerian Army’s welfare support measures for personnel deployed in the counter-insurgency theatre, facilitating troop movement and providing logistical support for operational effectiveness.
