Troops Foil Kidnap Attempt, Rescue Four Victims in Kebbi

Troops of the Nigerian Army have foiled a kidnap attempt and rescued four abducted victims in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Security sources said the operation was carried out at about 7:00 a.m. on July 10 after troops of the 8 Division Garrison, deployed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Unashi, received intelligence on a kidnapping incident at Shengel community.
According to the sources, the troops swiftly mobilised to the area and made contact with the suspected kidnappers.
The ensuing engagement forced the criminals to abandon four kidnapped victims and flee into the surrounding bush.
The troops rescued the victims unhurt and subsequently reunited them with their families.
The military said efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects as security operations continue across Kebbi State to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities.
