Troops intercept 30 cows, 50 sheep over alleged illegal grazing in Plateau

Troops of Sector 3, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have intercepted 30 cows and 50 sheep allegedly involved in illegal grazing at Rafin Bauna Village in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 3, 2026, when troops deployed at the Rafin Bauna Guard location responded to a report of cattle grazing within the residential area.

Upon arrival, the troops found the livestock grazing within the community and moved them to a safe location.

Efforts are ongoing to identify the owners of the livestock for necessary action.
