Troops intercept 41 cattle after alleged farm destruction in Jos East

Troops of Sector 1, Sub-Sector 12, deployed at Kudeddu, have intercepted 41 cattle allegedly involved in the destruction of a farm at Zabir village in Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident occurred at about 10:56 a.m. on Sept. 25, when the troops responded to a report of farm destruction allegedly caused by cattle grazing in the area.
Upon arrival at the location, the troops intercepted 41 cattle grazing without a herder.
The livestock were subsequently moved to a safe location pending identification of their owners.
Security sources said the Miyetti Allah leadership in Jos East Local Government Area had been contacted to assist in identifying the owners of the cattle and facilitate the necessary follow-up action.
The development highlights the continuing need for effective management of livestock movement and prompt intervention in disputes involving farmers and herders to prevent such incidents from escalating into wider communal tensions.
