Troops Intercepted Cow After Reported Farm Destruction in Riyom, Plateau

Troops of Sector 6, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have recovered a cow following a reported case of farm destruction in Tongorong community, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources disclosed that the incident occurred at about 6:15 p.m. on May 31, when troops responded to a distress report of farmland destruction allegedly caused by cattle belonging to Alhaji Kabiru.
Upon arrival at the scene, the troops reportedly recovered one cow found within the affected farmland.
The animal was subsequently moved to a safe location by the troops to allow for amicable resolution between the parties involved.
Security sources said efforts were ongoing to ensure peaceful settlement of the dispute in line with established community and security mediation mechanisms.
Authorities have urged residents to avoid actions that could escalate tensions, while reaffirming commitment to maintaining peace and order in the area.
