Troops Launch Search Operation After Kidnap of Resident in Plateau

Troops of Sector 1, Sub-Sector 12, have launched a search-and-rescue operation following the kidnapping of a resident, Mr. Zira Osata, at Adonai village in Kwang District, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources disclosed that the incident occurred at about 2:26 a.m. on May 31, when the victim was reportedly abducted by unidentified armed men.
Troops were immediately mobilised to the area after receiving a distress call and have since commenced coordinated operations in suspected criminal hideouts within the general area.
The operation is being conducted in collaboration with Keystone, a local security support initiative, to track down the kidnappers and secure the release of the victim.
Security sources said search-and-rescue efforts are ongoing, while intelligence-led operations have been intensified across surrounding communities to trace the movement of the abductors.
Authorities have assured residents of sustained security presence and urged members of the public to provide timely information that could assist ongoing operations.
Efforts are also underway to ensure the safe rescue of the victim and the apprehension of those responsible for the abduction.
