Troops  neutralize bandit kingpin Abubakar a.k.a Mallam in katsina, foil rescue attempt

Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have neutralized a notorious bandit kingpin during a failed attempt by armed bandits to rescue a captured accomplice in Danmusa town, Katsina State.

 

Zagazola Makama  gathered that the incident occurred on May 5, at about 10:30p.m., when the bandits launched a coordinated attack to free one Kamalu Buzare, a suspected bandit earlier apprehended by security operatives.

 

Alerted to the movement of the assailants, a  joint team of troops, police and local security operatives were deployed to repel the attack.

 

According to military sources, the superior firepower of the troops overwhelmed the attackers, forcing them to retreat.

 

“During the pursuit operation, a bandit kingpin identified as Abubakar, popularly known as Mallam, was neutralized. His corpse was discovered at the outskirts of Danmusa at about 2:50p.m. on May 6,” the source said.

 

Troops have intensified search operations across adjoining communities and forest routes to apprehend the fleeing suspects and dismantle their operational bases.

 

Operation FANSAN YANMA, continues to sustain pressure on criminal elements across Katsina State and the wider North West region, with the aim of restoring peace and security in affected communities.
