Troops receive heroic welcome in Plateau community after clearance operations

Troops of 33 Artillery Brigade, in conjunction with an Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) team, have received a heroic welcome from residents of Kampani Zurak community in Plateau state, following recent operations targeting bandit enclaves in the area.

 

Security sources said the troops arrived at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Kampani Zurak at about 7:20 p.m. on April 15, where they were warmly received by residents who expressed appreciation for ongoing clearance operations in the general area.

 

The sources said the reception was further reinforced by a visit from the village head of Kampani Zurak and his entourage, who commended the troops for their efforts in dismantling criminal hideouts within the community and surrounding locations.

 

According to the sources, the visit had in attendance the Commander of 33 Artillery Brigade, Brig. Gen. S.S. Shehu, the ONSA team leader, and other senior officers involved in the operation.

 

Community members were said to have praised the troops for restoring relative peace and stability, following sustained operations against bandit elements operating in the area.

 

Security authorities noted that troops’ morale and combat efficiency remain satisfactory, with ongoing efforts aimed at consolidating gains and preventing resurgence of criminal activities in the region.
