Troops Recover Motorcycle, Mobile Phone After Encounter With Terrorists in Katsina

Troops of 17 Brigade have recovered a motorcycle and a mobile phone following an encounter with suspected terrorists in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Military sources disclosed that the incident occurred at about 6:45 p.m. on June 8 at a crossing point in Ruwan Godiya while troops were conducting a routine rotation within their areas of responsibility.
According to the sources, the troops encountered suspected terrorists riding on a motorcycle and immediately engaged them.
The terrorists reportedly fled the scene under pressure from the troops, abandoning their motorcycle and a mobile phone during the encounter.
No casualties were reported among the troops.
The recovered items have been taken into military custody for further investigation and exploitation.
Security sources said efforts are ongoing to track the fleeing suspects and gather intelligence that could lead to the disruption of terrorist activities within the Faskari axis and adjoining communities.
The operation forms part of sustained military efforts to deny criminal elements freedom of movement and enhance security across vulnerable areas of Katsina State.
