Troops repel terrorists’ attack in Sokoto

Troops of 8 Division Garrison have repelled a terrorist attack in Tara village, Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 11:50 p.m. on April 11 when troops deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Gatawa responded to reports of terrorist activities in the area.
According to the sources, the troops made contact with the attackers on arrival and engaged them with superior firepower.
They added that the terrorists were forced to flee the scene following the exchange.
The sources noted that troops are maintaining heightened vigilance and continuing operations to prevent further attacks in the area.
