Troops rescue four kidnapped victims in Benue

Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have rescued four kidnapped victims after responding to a kidnapping incident at Chede in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.

It was  gathered that the incident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. on Sept. 6, 2026, when troops of Sector 1, OPWS, deployed at Gbise, responded to reports of kidnapping activities in the area.

The troops engaged in a pursuit of the fleeing suspects, forcing the kidnappers to abandon the four victims and escape into the surrounding area.

The rescued victims were subsequently taken into military custody for further action, while efforts are ongoing to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects.

The latest operation underscores the continued efforts by security forces to disrupt kidnapping activities and rescue victims across Benue State.
