Troops Rescue Kidnap Victim During Raid on Terrorists’ Hideout in Edo

Troops of 12 Brigade, in collaboration with Hybrid Forces, have rescued a kidnap victim during a raid on a suspected terrorists’ hideout in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.
Military sources said the operation was conducted at about 4:00 a.m. on May 25 around Imoga Forest following intelligence on criminal activities in the area.
According to the sources, the troops stormed the hideout, forcing the suspected terrorists to flee on sighting the advancing security personnel.
The sources disclosed that the fleeing criminals abandoned one of their captives while escaping with other victims.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victims were kidnapped from the Ibilo general area on May 21.
The rescued victim was subsequently reunited with his family, while efforts were ongoing to track the fleeing suspects and rescue the remaining abducted persons.
