Troops of 82 Division Task Force Battalion have rescued three abductees during a patrol operation in the Amuda general area of Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

Security sources said the rescue took place at about 7:00 a.m. on June 11 while troops were conducting routine patrols within the area.

According to the sources, the victims were discovered in the course of the operation and immediately taken into custody for preliminary screening and documentation.

During initial interrogation, the escapees reportedly disclosed that they fled from terrorist enclaves in Saha and Chinene, taking advantage of disorganization within the camps allegedly caused by sustained military operations in the Mandara Mountains.

The sources added that the rescued persons were properly profiled and later handed over to community leaders in Ngoshe for further coordination and reintegration support.

Military authorities said ongoing operations in the general area had continued to yield positive outcomes, including the disruption of terrorist activities and the rescue of civilians.

They reaffirmed commitment to sustained clearance operations across the Mandara Mountain axis and surrounding communities.
