Troops rescue two gunshot victims after attack in Plateau

Troops of Sector 8, Sub-Sector 81, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have rescued two locals who sustained gunshot wounds during an attack by suspected Fulani militias in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 4:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, around a high ground between Kaduno and Banasu communities.
The troops, deployed at Gwomgada, responded to a distress report on the attack and quickly moved to the location.
Their intervention reportedly forced the suspected attackers to flee into the surrounding area.
The troops subsequently searched the location and rescued the two victims, identified as Bulus Pam and Gwom Zakaria, who were found with gunshot wounds.
The injured victims were evacuated to a hospital for medical attention.
Meanwhile, troops have commenced a manhunt for the fleeing attackers as efforts continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and prevent further attacks in the area.
