Troops rescue two kidnapped women in edo state

Troops of Operation MESA have rescued two women who were kidnapped from a residence behind NASEME in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
A security source disclosed that the incident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. on March 27, when troops of 195 Battalion (Rear), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigeria Police Force and local vigilantes, responded to a distress call.
According to the source, the joint security team trailed the kidnappers into the bush along their withdrawal route.
“The criminals, on sighting the advancing troops, abandoned the victims and fled,” the source said.
He added that the rescued victims were safely recovered and subsequently reunited with their families.
The source noted that follow-up operations are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and dismantle their criminal network in the area.
