Troops foil terrorists’ movement along Funtua–Gusau road in Zamfara

Troops of the 1 Brigade Combat Team have disrupted the movement of suspected terrorists during a fighting patrol in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the troops, deployed under the 7 Mobility force, responded to credible intelligence at about 7:21 p.m. on July 18 indicating the presence of armed terrorists around Gidan Giye.
The sources said the troops swiftly mobilised to the area and successfully denied the terrorists freedom of movement along the Funtua–Gusau road corridor, forcing the criminals to withdraw before they could carry out any attack.
No casualties were recorded during the operation.
Military authorities said the patrol formed part of ongoing offensive operations aimed at dominating key routes and preventing terrorist and bandit activities across the Tsafe axis and other parts of Zamfara State.
