Two Herders Killed in Suspected Militia Attack in Benue State

Two herders have been killed in a suspected militia attack in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.
Security sources said troops of Sector 1, Operation WHIRL STROKE, deployed at Gidan Papa, responded at about 7:00 a.m. on April 22 to a distress call over an attack on herders at Gbaji in Sengev District.
The sources said that on arrival at the scene, troops discovered that two herders had been killed by the suspected attackers, who had already fled the area.
The bodies of the deceased were evacuated by their families for burial according to local rites.
The sources added that troops have continued patrols in the general area in a bid to track and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
