60-Year-Old Man Abducted After Armed Attack in Dukku, Gombe

A 60-year-old man, identified as Alhaji Manu, has been abducted by unidentified armed persons who invaded his residence in Layi Village, Dukku Local Government Area of Gombe State.
The incident occurred at about 4:30 a.m., when the attackers reportedly stormed the residence armed with dangerous weapons and assaulted the victim’s 28-year-old son, Musa Alhaji Manu.
The attackers subsequently abducted the elderly man and fled to an unknown destination.
The incident was reported to the Police at about 10:30 a.m., following which officers visited the scene and commenced investigation.
Musa, who sustained injuries during the attack, was evacuated to General Hospital Dukku for medical treatment.
Police tactical teams, hunters and local vigilantes have been mobilised to conduct search-and-rescue operations, trace the abductors and secure the safe release of the victim.
Security agencies are expected to intensify intelligence gathering around the surrounding communities and forest routes to identify the perpetrators and prevent further attacks.
