Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 1:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, as part of proactive measures to prevent criminal activities and reassure residents.
The sources said troops and other security personnel conducted patrols across major flashpoints within the Jos and Bukuru metropolis.
The security agencies also provided adequate security at various mosques and Islamic sects within the joint operations area to ensure hitch-free Jumat prayers.
The operation was aimed at denying criminal elements freedom of action, preventing potential security threats and maintaining public safety during the religious activities.
The show of force forms part of ongoing security measures by OPEP and other security agencies to protect lives and property and sustain peace across Plateau State.
