COAS Welfare Flight Airlifts 329 Troops In, Out of OPHK Theatre for Rest and Family Reunions

Operation HADIN KAI says a total of 329 personnel have been airlifted in and out of the Theatre under the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Waidi Shaibu, Welfare Flight conducted on 16 June 2026.
It was gathered that the second welfare flight for June was executed using a Value Jet aircraft.
According to the sources, 155 personnel were moved into the theatre of operations to resume duties, while 174 personnel were safely airlifted out to enable them reunite with their families and take rest after operational deployment.
It noted that the movement was conducted smoothly, without any incident or disruption.
The sources further disclosed that a total of 33,426 personnel have so far been moved in and out of the OPHK Theatre since the commencement of the COAS Welfare Flight initiative.
The initiative, it added, continues to serve as a key welfare mechanism designed to support troop rotation, improve morale, and ensure personnel are given time to recover and reconnect with their loved ones after demanding field operations.
