Four Cattle Die After Targeted with Suspected Poisoning by Locals in Plateau

Four cattle have died while three others were reportedly left sick after grazing on a suspected poisonous substance in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau.
Troops of Sector 1, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), responded to a report of cattle poisoning at about 8:35 p.m. on Aug. 9 along Rukuba Road, Jos, according to a security report.
On arrival at the location, the troops discovered four dead cattle and three others in sick condition.
The cattle were reportedly affected after grazing on a substance planted by locals and suspected to be poisonous
The troops secured the area, while investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the nature and source of the suspected poisonous substance.
Security agencies said they are working to fish out those responsible.
