GOC 3 Division Engages Fulani Leaders on Peace, Land Delineation in Plateau

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division, Nigerian Army, and Commander, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), Maj.-Gen. W.M. Dangana, has engaged Fulani leaders from Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau on measures to strengthen peace and security in the area.

Dangana held the engagement on Aug. 9 at the OPEP Headquarters conference room, Jos, according to a security report.

The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff, OPEP, Coordinator, Joint Intelligence Fusion Centre (JIFC), and other staff officers.

The discussions focused largely on the ongoing land delineation exercise aimed at restoring peace within the Joint Operations Area (JOA).

The stakeholders also deliberated on other issues of security significance affecting the area.

The engagement was conducted peacefully and without any incident.

The meeting illustrates the importance of sustained dialogue and collaboration between security agencies and community leaders in addressing local disputes and strengthening peaceful coexistence in Plateau State.
